There are many of that claim to be the biggest.... have you ever wondered if they really are?? Here are a few braggarts in the midwest that you may want to size up!!

Wahpeton Wahper

#1 Fish Tale or the Biggest Fish Tail??

Wahpeton, ND claims their fame with this Whapeton Wahper of a catfish! Surrounded by pristine flatlands, rolling flatlands, and about any type of flatland you need to see, this little fishy is enough to make your friends jealous. You may want to mount a photo of yourself next to the Worlds Biggest Catfish!

HOLY Cow!

#2 Salem Sue

Her presence shows that New Salem grows With milk-producers' yields; We've got the cow, world's largest cow that looks across our fields.

Posted Poem

This Poetic Holstein in Salem, ND could bring a tear to your eye! Folklore would say Miss Sue was spotted by the Sioux in 1883. According to passed word, Sue was seen turning the ground up to which came a shout from a young Sioux "wrong side up". Upon this great discovery it was realized the land was for grazing and the dairy industry was born. You go girl!

#3 World's Largest..... Metal... Thingies

At this point in the trip things made of scrap metal are a welcome site at the Enchanted Highway in Regent, ND. Scattered along the everlasting views of flatlands are a reminder of a song from my youth "things that make you go hmmmmm". Out of pieces of scraps of metal are the most random depictions of, well, things. From geese to deer to farmers and a woman with kids in a bathtub? They're large and Regent's claim to fame are the largest scrap sculptures!

#4 What The _______ is That!!

This my friends is the alleged World's Largest Prairie Chicken. Insiders will boast it is also the largest "booming" prairie chicken, as if the excitement wasn't enough! Worlds biggest neck air sacks on the chicken contribute to the "boom" factor. In Rothsay, MN you will find a towering 13 foot faux feathered beauty which is said to be the closest prairie chicken to Mars. So, here's me, close to the closest prairie chicken to Mars. Obviously I'm kinda feeling like a big deal.

#5 The World's Largest Buffalo

At this point everyone is asking, what could be bigger and better! Here it is folks and yes, it is anatomically correct! The lines were short and this 26 foot 60 ton giant in Jamestown, ND is worth the wait. Which is relatively no one! But the memories of seeing someone snap pics of buffalo junk with your children will make a lifetime of happy photos.

What is the moral to all this madness you may wonder?

When photographing big things, always be aware of your camera angle!
